An innovative new award is being launched at Russia’s leading technical event, SPE Russian Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Technical Conference and Exhibition, where student visitors will be given the chance to vote for their ‘dream company’ from amongst the exhibiting organisations.
Companies confirmed as participating in the award include: Rosneft, Schlumberger, Halliburton, 3M, PromTechInvest, RITEK, Rock Flow Dynamics, TNK-BP, Baulux Group, Peak Scientific Instruments Ltd, Welltec, TEGAZ.
The new competition will see the students – many hundreds of whom will visit the Moscow show next month – act as judge and jury, voting on the overall success of companies in demonstrating and delivering on their promises of being an ideal employer.
The building of an image and reputation, and continually delivering on it, is a vital goal for all oil and gas companies involved in the ongoing search for fresh talent in a highly-competitive international jobs market. Being awarded the title of ‘Best Employer’ in the eyes of many new prospective employees would be a major fillip for whichever company comes out on top in the voting!
The event organisers believe that the opinion of those set to play a vital role in tomorrow’s business world is therefore the best source for creating an open and objective judging system.
Students have always made up a sizeable portion of those attending SPE Russian Oil and Gas, and the 2010 event next month will be no exception.
Students at the conference and exhibition will be evaluating exhibiting companies by the following criteria: reputation of the brand; traineeship programs organised by a company; the presence of a company both in Russia and internationally, and so on.
This independent assessment and fresh look at the business from the potential employees of tomorrow will make this Award truly innovative, and add value and interest to what is already an exciting and forward-looking event. Following the students’ assessment the winning company will receive the title ‘Dream Company’.
The organisers hope that this competition will grow to become an interesting and ongoing challenge for the exhibitors. The receiving of such an award will represent material recognition of a company’s success in portraying the opportunities it holds for potential employees of the future, as well as being honorable and considerable evidence of its outstanding service.
The award will also represent a practical route for a company in terms of external positioning (generating interest in the company from potential employees) and internal positioning (promotion among existing employees, and the team-building effect).
The 'Dream Company’ Award ceremony will take place on the last day of the exhibition – 28th October.
